Jobs are not limited but opportunities are.
Opportunities show up for a limited time span and then vanishes. If you are fast enough to grab that, you can become successful. What do you do to get a job? Prepare a resume, put all good things on that. Reach out to the Company where you want to be hired. You wait for the phone call which never does. Why? Your resume was good, you mentioned all your achievements and you are a perfect candidate too. But it is what it is. That does not mean that you curse luck for your failure. You are doing everything for your dream job but your efforts are somehow falling short. There are the easiest way through which you can get what you wish to achieve. So let us see what they are. #1. Clean up your web presence and make it more powerfulWhenever you apply for a job in any company, they look at your web presence. They see at which sites you have placed your resume and how desperate you are. They see what you are as a person on the social media and figure out if you are fit for the job. Upload a good portfolio with pictures on the internet and tell everything that you may think concern the recruiter. You have to be thorough and honest. #2. Replace ordinary with power wordsDo not use good, able, achieved and other weak words in the resume. Collect all the words that you can define yourself and your qualities with. Now replace these words with more attention-catching words. Keep them simple but effective. Do not use fancy words which are not used in the daily conversations. #3. Go one extra step and send personal emailsWhile getting a job is professional but you can send personal emails to the recruiter if you know them. You can also send emails to the friends, college teachers and alumni of your college to get help. They may know the recruiter and fill in good words about you. Referral is not a bad thing as far as you are ready to work hard to keep the promises. Malaysia SEO says that 40% of the hiring decisions are affected by the referrals. #4. Teach them why they should hire youA resume is all about teaching the recruiters about you. You want them to know that you are perfect for the job. Focus on the question ‘why they should hire you’ and write the resume accordingly. Give it a thought and then write how you can be an asset to the company if they hire you. Have a plan to answer this ‘Why’ in the interview too. #5. Cut the clutter, backups are badIf you want a job; have backups, if you want your dream job; forget the backups. Be specific about where you want to work. Write the resume for that particular firm only. Do not be distracted by the job openings at various companies. Focus on your dream company and prioritize your tasks for that. #6. Show, don’t tellThe promises made in the resume should be fulfilled. Your want to convince the recruiters that you are fit for the job, prove it. Go through the present projects of your dream company and have an opinion or suggestion about that. Prepare an outline of what you are going to do if you join and show the interviewer. This would help him make the decision faster. #7. Organize what you have and keep trackOrganization is the key to getting success. Write about the companies where you have applied and what they replied. Maintain a spreadsheet with the important dates, a reason for rejection, type of company, address and phone number etc. You do not want to apply at one company twice. You certainly do not want to confuse one with another. #8. Time is everythingDo not show hurry in sending the resume to the company, you should know the right timing when your application would be considered. The Mondays and Tuesdays are considered to be the most important days for the recruitments. According to SEO Kuala Lumpur, 18.5% of people apply for a job on Tuesdays and 21.5% of hiring decisions are also taken on Tuesday. #9. Don’t sweat if it does not work out Failures are the important part of our lives. We cannot proceed further without failing even once. Take the rejections positively and work harder to get a job. Sometimes, even after multiple efforts, you are unable to get into your dream job. That is not the end of the line, it just means that there are better opportunities somewhere.
